Buying art can be an intimidating process - here is some information to help
How can I buy art from Pivot Gallery?
Any available work can be purchased online, in person at the gallery, by email, or over the phone. We accept all major credit cards, e-transfers and cash. If you need help completing a purchase online please don't hesitate to get in touch at info@pivotgallery.com or 705-732-1606.
Do you ship art across Canada and internationally?
Anything purchased on our website can be shipped, rates will be dependent on the size and weight of the piece as well as its destination. We are happy to ship internationally. All shipping costs for online purchases will be calculated after checkout and sent to the customer. If you'd like a quote before buying please send us an email at info@pivotgallery.com with the full delivery address and the piece you are interested in purchasing.
Is Canadian art tax deductible for businesses?
Original art created by Canadian citizens or permanent residents qualifies as a capital acquisition if the intent is to display and improve the business environment for clients. It can be claimed as a class 8 capital cost allowance depreciable at a rate of 20% per year if the artwork has a value of over $200. Artwork under $200 is a one time 100% deduction under class 12.
Note it is best to consult your accountant before making art acquisitions for your business.
Can I return an artwork if I don't like it?
Art purchased online cannot be returned. We offer artwork out on approval from the gallery - giving you 24 hours to decide if the piece works in your home. To ensure a piece will work in your home we can also digitally superimpose an image of it onto a photo of your space - contact us for more information..
Do you deliver and install for local customers?
Customers within a 25km range from the gallery get complimentary delivery with their purchase. We do not currently offer installation.
Do you offer framing?
We do not offer onsite framing however we are happy to coordinate framing services for our customers.
Can I consign paintings I own with you?
We may be able to help resell artworks you no longer want from your collection - get in touch via email with information on the artist, title, medium, size and original purchase information to see if we can help. Original works only - no prints or giclées please. Please note that the summer is our busiest season and we may not be able to get back to you quickly during those months.
